Gisborne - Tolaga and Tokomaru Bays - Mt Hikurangi - Tikitiki – East Cape and Hicks Bay area - Waikura Valley – The Motu - HaurataGet behind the wheel and get off the beaten track to meet new friends and uncover new favourite places with this quintessential Kiwi off-road experience (6 nights: 17-23 April 2021)
After meeting your fellow adventurers in Gisborne, hit the open road and follow winding country tracks to discover breathtaking corners of New Zealand, far from the usual touristed trails.
As this gentle off-road touring itinerary uncovers the extraordinary natural beauty and rich Maori culture of New Zealand's stunning and sparsely populated East Cape, enjoy meeting a collection of engaging local personalities (who will generously share the local legends and a priviliged window into their idyllic lifestyles). We will travel across private farmlands to secluded coastlines and secret waterfalls, stay in comfortable farmstay, motel and country pub accommodation, and enjoy hearty country fare in the company of new friends.
There are opportunities to explore the remote back country on horseback, bicycle or by jet boat, enjoy the ever changing vistas from Mt Hikurangi and gaze up at the brilliant Southern skies away from the city lights. We'll visit the attractive Maori Tikitiki and East Cape Lighthouse, tour through private farmlands and forests, wander beside picturesque rivers and cross pristine streams.
After six fabulous days of touring, our adventures will lead us to Haurata, where we will depart having made new friends, collected some great memories and having discovered some of the most beautiful hidden corners of New Zealand.
From NZD$2,475 per person based on double or twin-share accommodation, inclusive of NZ GST.
